A mile and a half away, E15 and E13
Alloy Wheel Repair in West Ham
Wheel Repair Ltd refurbishes alloy wheels at its workshop on Nursery Lane in Forest Gate, about a mile and a half from West Ham. Bring the car or just the wheels in. A mobile visit is available where there is somewhere safe to work.
Why West Ham drivers use us
Wheels are refinished properly, not touched up on the kerb.
Faces re-machined on a lathe, not painted over.
A buckled rim is either straightenable or it is not, and the jig tells us which before you spend anything. If it is cracked across a spoke we will say so.

What people say
The damage we see most in West Ham
The station run. West Ham station takes four lines and the streets around it fill up with people parking for the train. Cars go into gaps they would not normally take, hard against the kerb, and that is where the nearside scuffs come from.
Manor Road and the approaches. Heavy traffic on and off the A13 and the flyover, and the surface shows it. A rim that drops into a bad patch at that speed bends.
Speed cushions. There are a lot of them through the residential streets off Portway. Taken at an angle with one wheel on the cushion, they put a surprising amount through the rim.

West Ham is about a mile and a half from Nursery Lane, down past Memorial Recreation Ground. The older terraces off Manor Road are permit bays and nothing spare, and the newer blocks going up near the station have parking underneath. Most E15 and E13 customers find it easier to drop the car with us than to find us a space, so that is what most of them do.
Common questions
Do you cover West Ham, E15 and E13?
Yes. The workshop is on Nursery Lane in Forest Gate, about a mile and a half away past the Memorial Ground. Most people bring the car in, and a mobile visit is available for the jobs that suit it.
There is a shake through the steering since I came off the A13. What is it?
Usually a buckled rim. The wheel comes off and goes on a jig so we can see how far out it is. Some straighten, some are cracked as well, and we will tell you which before anything is done.
Can you come to the flats near the station?
Only if there is somewhere safe and legal to work, off the public highway and on level ground with room to get round the car. An underground bay with headroom usually works, a permit bay on the street does not. Ask and we will be honest about it.
Can I leave the car with you and get the train?
Yes, and plenty of people from West Ham do exactly that. Ring first so we know it is coming, drop it at Nursery Lane and collect it when it is ready.
There is a crack in the rim. Can it be welded?
Sometimes. A crack in the right place can be welded and refinished. One across a spoke or into the mounting face is not worth trusting, and we will not sign that off as safe.
What do you need from me to give a price?
Tell us what the car is and send a picture of each wheel that needs attention, square on rather than at an angle. That is almost always enough to price it properly.
Do the speed cushions really damage wheels?
Taken straight and slowly, no. Taken at an angle with one wheel riding the cushion, they load the rim sideways, and that is a buckle rather than a scuff.
Do you cover Plaistow and Canning Town as well?
Yes, both, along with the streets off Portway and down towards Cundy Road.
