A mile and a half away, E6 and E13
Alloy Wheel Repair in Upton Park
Wheel Repair Ltd refurbishes alloy wheels at its workshop on Nursery Lane in Forest Gate, about a mile and a half from Upton Park. Most people drop the car in and collect it later. A mobile visit is available where parking at home makes that difficult, which around here it often does.
Why Upton Park drivers use us
Wheels are refinished properly, not touched up on the kerb.
Faces re-machined on a lathe, not painted over.
The workshop is a mile and a half up the road. Leave the car with us, walk back, and pick it up when it is done.

What people say
The damage we see most in Upton Park
Green Street kerbs. It is a market street with cars pulling in and out of tight spaces all day, and most of the damage we see from E6 is a nearside front that has found the kerb while parking rather than while driving.
Barking Road at speed. A main road that has been dug up and patched more than once. A rim that drops into a bad joint comes away bent rather than scratched, and that is the shake you feel through the wheel afterwards.
Private hire wear. There is a lot of private hire parked around Plashet and Katherine Road, and a car doing that mileage picks up kerb damage on all four rather than one bad one.

Covering Upton Park
- Green Street
- Barking Road
- Queen’s Road
- Plashet Road
- Katherine Road
- Upton Lane
Upton Park is about a mile and a half from the workshop, straight down Katherine Road or along Green Street depending on the traffic. It is terraced almost all the way through, with permit bays and very little slack, so most E6 and E13 customers bring the car to us rather than the other way round. Around Upton Gardens, on the old ground, there is parking underneath the blocks. Where getting the car out is the awkward part, a mobile visit is the option.
Common questions
Do you cover Upton Park, E6 and E13?
Yes, all of it, both sides of Green Street. The workshop is on Nursery Lane in Forest Gate, about a mile and a half away. Most people bring the car in, and a mobile visit is there for the jobs that suit it.
Parking is impossible on my road. Can you still do it?
That is the usual reason people drive to us instead. Bring the car to Nursery Lane and the problem goes away. If you would rather we came out, we need somewhere safe and legal to work, off the public highway, so a driveway or a yard rather than a permit bay.
I hit a pothole on Barking Road and the steering shakes. What is that?
Usually a buckled rim. The wheel comes off and goes on a jig so we can see how far out it is. Some straighten, some turn out to be cracked as well, and we will tell you which yours is before anything is done to it.
Can you do all four at once?
Yes, and on a car that does the mileage a private hire does, all four is often the sensible job rather than chasing one at a time.
Is it worth refinishing wheels on an older car?
Sometimes not. If a wheel is corroded through or cracked in the wrong place you are better off replacing it, and we would rather tell you that than take the work.
What do you need from me to give a price?
Straight on photos of the wheels that need doing, taken in daylight rather than under a streetlight, and what the car is. We can usually price it from that.
Do you work with the trade around Green Street?
Yes. There are dealers and plate traders through E6 and E13 and a fair amount of what we do is their stock. Ask about an account if it is regular work.
Can I bring just the wheels in?
Yes. If you have a spare set, put the damaged ones in the boot and bring them down without the car. People do it all the time.
